Menlo-Atherton has become the team no one wants to face right now. The Bears won for the sixth time in their last eight games on Wednesday with a 10-6 victory at Sequoia.

With the win, Menlo-Atherton stayed within a game of the PAL-Bay Division lead.

Of the Bears' nine hits on Wednesday, seven of them went for extra bases, including three home runs on a Sequoia diamond that has shown itself to be a launching pad this year.

Freshmen Jake Scott and Owen Coupe had home runs, while sophomore Lucas Ten Vaanholt added a homer and drove in three runs. Coupe also had three RBI.

Ryder Kelly, one of the few seniors in the Bears lineup, had two doubles, while Ten Vaanholt had two hits.

After going scoreless in the first inning, the Bears scored eight runs over the next three innings.

The Ravens, who have been slumping of late, got a three-run homer from Jackson Tetley in the second innings that gave them a 3-1 lead, but the lead quickly evaporated when M-A struck for three in the top of the third.

Mario Fausto had two hits and two RBI for Sequoia, which will play Half Moon Bay on Friday at Oracle Park.

Carlmont 6, The King's Academy 2

The Scot scored three runs in the first inning and never relinquished the lead as Arvav Prathipati threw five solid innings to set the tone for Carlmont.

The loss dropped the Knights a game behind Burlingame in the PAL-Bay Division standings, heading into Friday's series finale in Sunnyvale.

Following Friday's game, the Scots will face Hillsdale on Saturday at Oracle Park.

Ryan Weiss, Levi Wellman and Nate Werbinski had two hits each for Carlmont, while Max Roberts had two hits for The King's Academy.

Menlo School 14, Capuchino 0

Chuck Wynn took over sole possession of the Peninsula's home run lead by hitting two – his eighth and ninth this season – in a lopsided five-inning win over Capuchino.

The Knights pounded out 15 hits, including three by Zach Roeder, who also had a home run as did Fletcher Cahill.

Liam Widner, who held Capuchino to two hits while walking one and striking out four in the five-inning contest, had two hits at the plate, too. Matthew Majalya added two doubles as the Knights completed the sweep of the Mustangs.

Nash Trautwein allowed three hits over three innings as Burlingame completed the sweep of Hillsdale and took over sole possession of first place in the Bay Division.

The Panthers scored two runs in the first and added two more runs in the third to take control of the game.

Slade Flores drove in two runs.

Kymani Chamolack had two hits for Hillsdale.

Justin Fung had three hits, including a triple, while Rex Martin had two hits and drove in three runs for the Vikings, who stayed hop with a De Anza Division victory that allowed them to remain in second place.

Senior catcher Carter Bader had a double, a triple and drove in a pair, while Dylan Robinson drove in two runs with a double.

Homestead got two hits from Drew Hamburger, while Ivan Hwang had two RBI.

Ethan Williams allowed four hits over six scoreless innings annd didn't walk a batter. He struck out six as the Wildcats bounced back from their first league loss of the season with a shutout victory.

Brady Simon had three hits for Los Gatos, while Blake Mordaunt had two hits and Chase Frolich continued his RBI team with two more on Wednesday.

Blake Fowler had two hits for Mountain View.

The Wildcats travel to Santa Clara on Friday.
