Bellarmine Prep, in need of some positive momentum as it heads to the Central Coast Section tournament, needed some positive momentum after losing its last four WCAL games to finish in fourth place in Northern California's most competitive baseball league.

It found it Saturday morning in Belmont.

The Bells wasted no time in collecting some good vibes by scoring eight runs in the first inning in a 17-0 thrashing of Carlmont. The game was originally scheduled for last month but was rained out.

On Saturday morning, it just rained hits. Bellarmine collected 22 hits and made short work of the Scots, who will also await the results of Saturday's selection meeting, which will determine the 48 teams selected for next weekend's tournament.
