Archbishop Mitty struck early and often by scoring eight runs in the first inning to knock top-seeded Carmel out of the tournament with a 21-0 victory at Sollecito Ballpark in Monterey
The Monarchs will take on the winner of Wednesday's game between Burlingame and Palma – also in Monterey – for the CCS-Division II championship. That game will be played on Saturday at Excite Ballpark in San Jose.
Austin Mak had four hits and drove in four runs for the Monarchs, who are now one win away from their second CCS crown in the last three years. This one might be a lot more unexpected after they closed the season by losing seven of their last eight games and entered the Division II bracket as the No. 5 seed.
Elijah Kroenung, Mitty's top hitter all year, had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Ethan Chase had two hits and the RBI, while Kelen Johnson had two hits and Brody Lacy drove in two.
Nico Mata pitched three scoreless innings to pick up the victory in the game that was called after five innings.

Division III
Menlo School 7, Aptos 6, 9 innings
The Knights won their eighth straight CCS game and now stand one victory from their third straight sectional championship.
But this one took some work. They rallied from a two-run deficit with two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings. And after Aptos took the lead in the top of the ninth, they scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to record the walk-off win.
Menlo will take on Wilcox in Thursday's Division III final at a yet-to-be-determined site.
Menlo launched its game-winning rally in the bottom of the ninth when Chuck Wynn led off with a walk. He moved to third on Liam Widner's ground ball single that bounded into shallow left field.
After a strikeout and a popup, Widner stole second and Wynn scored the game-tying run on a balk.
Renner Barnett then ended the contest with a single to left field.
The Knights forced extra innings by scoring twice in the seventh inning on a leadoff triple by Zach Roeder, a hit batter and a walk that loaded the bases. A walk and a balk tied the game at five.
Roeder, Widner, Barnett and Jack Freehill had two hits each for Menlo.

Wilcox 7, Hollister 0
Sophomore Josh Porda, who was brought up to the varsity in April when Eliah Laureles suffered an injury, pitched another gem – this time when the Chargers needed it most.
Porda pitched a two-hit shutout with six strikeouts as Wilcox advanced to the CCS title game for the second straight year. Porda walked five but eventually settled down.
"He's been our best pitcher," said Wilcox coach Matthew Huth. "He's worked his ass off, making some changes to mechanics and grips on his pitches. He really listens and wants to be better. He's a fun kid to coach."
Early on Tuesday, he might have been a bit overwhelmed by the moment. The walks came early, but he eventually got comfortable and found his rhythm.
"Once he settled in, he really dominated with his location and trusting what pitches I was calling," Huth said.
Last year it lost the Division II finals to this same Hollister team, but revenge was sweet on Tuesday night in Monterey.
The Chargers took a 2-0 lead into the sixth inning and broke it open with five runs in the frame to all but end any chance at a Hollister comeback.
Outfielder Preston Jetson had two doubles and drove in a pair of runs, while third baseman Dylan Jackson had two hits.
The Chargers will take on Menlo School in the CCS-Division III title game on Thursday.
