Saint Francis 3, Pleasant Grove 0

Brody Larocque was solid again on Tuesday – maybe better than solid considering the weather conditions in a game that was called with one out in the top of the fifth inning by rain.

The mound and home plate areas were covered in mud, which made getting any kind of footing more difficult. Saint Francis was scheduled to play St. Mary's of Stockton on Tuesday night, but that came was postponed and will be played at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.

It didn't stop Larocque, who put together another strong outing as the top-ranked Lancers advanced to the winner's bracket of the Boras Family Classic in Sacramento. Larocque allowed just three hits in picking up the abbreviated win.

"Considering the conditions, he was very good," said Saint Francis coach Erik Wagle. "We worked quickly and attacked."

The Lancers, who won their 10th straight game on Tuesday, have now gone 59 1/3 innings without giving up an earned run.

Kyle McMillan had two hits, including a double while Tanner Wall drove in the only runs Larocque would need with a two-run single.
