Terra Nova Tigers: 2025- 18-7-1, 11-3 PAL Ocean Division, CCS-Division III qualifier. Coach: Jared Milch.

The Tigers were one of the surprise teams of 2025 by taking a handful of sophomores and stringing together a 10-game winning streak, a second-place finish in the PAL Ocean Division and a spot CCS tournament.

Not bad for a team that didn't play a home game all year while its diamond was undergoing renovations.

The new facility has been completed. The Tigers' finally took possession of their new home, which will feature lights and the ability to play night games, in early February. That's a good thing because the Tigers might be ready for prime time, ready to build on last year's success and take the next step.

"I think we have a bought-in group that wants to be great," Jared Milch said. "We expect to compete at a high level."

It goes down to being more than a bunch of good baseball players, says senior catcher Joey Donati.

"It comes down to everybody doing their job and putting the team first, which won't be a problem," Donati said. "We have guys who are very team-oriented, and we have a really good team chemistry."

The Tigers, who lost just three players from last year's squad, are led by Donati, who hit .388 with 24 RBI. His 32 hits included two home runs and 10 doubles.

Junior shortstop Brody Finale hit .411 with 30 hits. He drove in 21 runs and boasted a .962 fielding percentage. Meanwhile, Jessie Martinez pieced together an 8-2 record with a 1.97 earned-run average in more than 60 innings of work as a sophomore.

Leadoff hitter and left fielder Wes McDougal is a table setter who can steal a base. As a sophomore, he hit .347 with 17 runs scored and 19 stolen bases, while senior Aiden James figures to slot in behind Martinez as Terra Nova's No. 2 starter. He was 6-2 with a 1.45 ERA last year.

Newcomers expected to make the jump to varsity this year include infielder Spencer Spidel and Trevor Snead, who got a taste of varsity action last year and can pitch, catch and play first base.
