SUNNYVALE – Hillsdale battled from three runs down to tie The King's Academy in the top of the seventh on a Tommy Schultz two-run homer, but the Knights couldn't get another run.

That game in the bottom of the 10th when King's broke a 6-6 tie with a walk-off run. Justin Cho, who returned to his shortstop and leadoff position after injuring a thumb last month, led off with a single.

Nate Plata singled and Taiyo Petersen was internationally walked to load the bases. A fielder's choice grounder and strikeout looked like it might get Tyler Dang out of the inning, but Max Roberts ended the game with a base hit that scored Cho.

The two teams will meet again Friday in San Mateo.

After Hillsdale jumped to a 3-0 lead in the second inning, King's scored five runs in the third to seemingly take charge of the game. Consecutive run-scoring hits by Roberts, Oliver Entzminger and Tyler Huff were the big hits, while Plata led off the frame with a double and plated the final run of the inning with a bases-loaded walk.

But Hillsdale wasn't done. Hugo Guzman led off the seventh inning with a single up the middle. Jaden Minahan then doubled home Guzman to make it a 6-4 game before Schultz tied it with a long home run to left-center field.
