If the Wildcats can muster enough pitching, they have the offense to find themselves in the thick of the PAL Ocean Division race.

Cruz Torres, the reigning Ocean Division player of the year, is coming off his second straight big season. The senior outfielder hit a league-leading .443 with 39 hits and 28 RBI in 2025 and plans on bettering those numbers in his final year of high school competition.

He'll have some offensive firepower around him. Senior first baseman Jeremiah Arias-Torres hit .398 last year and drove in 25 runs, while sophomore third baseman Mateus Mokhtarani (.306) and sophomore shortstop Colby Fernandez should be better in their second seasons of varsity play. Junior Hunter Taylor will be behind the plate.

"Those kids were really good for us last year," Torres said. "With a year of development, they'll be even better. We have a lot of young players, but I think we'll be able to compete."

Carter Ball steps in as Woodside's ace after pitching well in relief last year. Ball went 3-1 with a 2.80 earned-run average last year. He struck out 38 batters in 40 innings.

After Ball, help will have to come from an unknown. The Wildcats return a combined 20 innings of varsity pitching. Sophomore Dean Joya went 5-2 with a 1.78 ERA at the JV level last year.
