Shawn Scott's squad struggled offensively last year and finished the season with a 10-16 record. Don't be surprised to see a bounce back in 2026 with a team that returns the core of its roster – a year older and a year better.

Senior outfielder Grayson Howard was the only Burlingame player to hit better than .300 last year. He had 16 hits and drove in 10 runs. He'll team with seniors Drew Gall and Liam Philibosian to give the Panthers what might be the PAL-Bay Division's best outfield.

Gall hit .279 with 19 hits, including four doubles, while Philibosian hit .278 with a team-leading 20 hits and six doubles.

Third baseman Mark O'Grady, who had 20 hits last year as a sophomore, returns to the lineup. He'll be counted on to anchor the hot corner, while Jean-Luc Uharrriet hit .296 in 2025 and returns to the middle of the batting order.

The offense appears to be improved, which means it could come down to pitching. Junior southpaw Nash Trautwein threw nearly 41 innings as a sophomore, winning one of six decisions with a 3.62 earned-run average and 24 strikeouts. If he can cut down on the 32 walks he yielded, he could see a spike in production this year.

Junior Nick Armstrong was 3-0 with a 2.12 ERA, while juniors Daniel MacMillan and Bryce Cone combined for an 8-2 record on a JV team that went 19-6 and won the PAL Bay Division.
