Kai Kung struck out seven over 6 1/3 innings to pick up the victory as Half Moon Bay won its 10th straight game, which is tied with top-ranked Saint Francis for the longest current winning streak on the Peninsula.

Kung improved to 11-1 for the season, tying Los Gatos' Ethan Willams and Saint Francis' Brody Larocque and Kyle McMillan for the most on the Peninsula.

The Cougars scored the game's only run in the bottom of the first when Riley Jackson was hit by a pitch. He moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Ian Ehrhardt and scored on Paxton Holden's single up the middle.

Jackson came in to get the final two outs of the game. With runners on first and second, he picked off Ivan Hwang from second base and got the final out on a line out. Those two outs required one pitch.
