St. Ignatius Prep rallied for a run in the seventh to force extra innings and scored another in the eighth to top Sacred Heart Cathedral, 3-2, in the Bruce Mahoney game played at Oracle Park.
It was the second straight year the Wildcats have come from behind to beat their WCAL – and City – rivals at the home of the San Francisco Giants.
With the game tied 2-2, AJ Wineinger led off the eighth inning with a walk off Cooper Rogers-Lewis. He moved to second on Chase Gordon's infield grounder and scored on RJ Church's base hit.
Sacred Heart jumped to a 2-0 lead in the third on a double by Johnny Nepomuceno that scored two runs. Chasin Deninger had two hits for the Irish.
St. Ignatius Prep cut the lead to one, on Ryan Rosenthal's sacrifice fly that scored Archer Horn. The Wildcats tied it in the seventh on a DJ Delaney sacrifice fly that scored RJ Kott, who led off the inning with a triple.
Gordon started for the Wildcats, but last just three innings, giving way to Leo Rhein, who threw five scoreless innings to pick up the win.
Jacob Vines went five innings for the Irish. He allowed a run on one hit while striking out six but walked six batters.

The Wildcats became the first team on the Peninsula to win 16 games, thanks to a 15-hit attack that was led by Brady Simon.
Simon continued his torrid ways by collecting three hits, including two doubles, while Chase Frolich had two hits and increased his Peninsula lead in RBI by driving in four runs. He now has 25 RBI.
Beau Musser had two hits, while Max Thomas and Jackson Fitzpatrick drove in three and two runs, respectively.
Savion Thomas and Dylan Rahbar had two hits each for the Bruins.

The Knights closed out a perfect 3-0 week by jumping on the Mustangs early and never letting up.
Dominic Myung continued his hot streak with three hits, including a double, a two RBI, while Brandon Kinoshita, Taiyo Petersen and Cayden McClure had two hits each. Max Roberts also drove in two runs.
Jayden Duong led the Mustangs with three hits, while Spencer Jones and Drew Hamburger had two hits each. Ajay Lohitsa had two RBI.

Mario Fausto added two hits, one of them being his third homer, and drove in two runs, and Garrett Johnson had two hits.
