A tip of the hat to the top performances in the PAL Ocean Division this year.

Thirty-one is a Prime number, one that is divisible only by one – and, of course, itself. Hence, the moniker Prime 31. It’s named for the 31 players we think best illustrate the talent level on the Peninsula. And the 31 players we think shined brightest this season. Here are our first five.

De La Salle rallies for three in the bottom of the seventh to come from behind and shock Padres, 5-4, to win Northern California championship. Saint Francis loses in Yuba City, while Menlo completes wild turnaround.

Long season will come to an end for Saint Francis, Serra and Menlo School in the Northern California finals.

Going 12 innings taxed the Padres pitching staff as it goes into Thursday's semifinal game with visiting Los Gatos.

Serra needs 12 innings to top Falcons on a walk-off walk. Padres will host Los Gatos in Thursday's Division I semifinals. Saint Francis advances in Division II, while Menlo stays alive in Division IV.

Serra to face College Park in NorCal Division I opener, while Saint Francis will face visiting Central Catholic. Valley Christian and Menlo School will play on the road
